After completing high school in Marysville, Washington, Mark Combs entered the United States Air Force as an Aerospace Medical Technician. His twenty-two year career included deployments during Operations Desert Shield, Desert Storm, Iraqi Freedom, and Enduring Freedom. He retired from service in 2009.
Combs began his undergraduate studies at the University of Nevada Las Vegas in 2012 initially majoring in drawing. In 2014 he officially changed his major to sculpture and went on to complete a Bachelors of Fine Arts with a concentration in sculpture and a minor in Art History in 2016. His school year culminated with the prestigious 22nd Annual Grounds for Sculpture Outstanding Student Achievement Awards in Contemporary Sculpture Award.
Combs is currently pursuing his Masters of Fine Arts degree at the University of Nevada, Reno’s. His sculptures explore human emotions, life, death and the evolution of man from a slightly science fiction perspective.
